hi there....

organic food is food grown on a farm certified organic by the USDA. these farms must follow strict regulations as to what can be used on the farm. the farmer must keep precise records of what was used, when and where. the farm is inspected by an inspector bonifide by an independant organic certifying agency.....

Organic foods are not subsidized by the government. Processed foods are heavily subsidized so they can be manufactured and sold at well below the cost to grow and process the raw materials involved. if these subsidies (paid for by our taxes) were removed processed foods would cost 5x more than they do currently

Chemicals are a lot cheaper than human labor costs

Supply and demand-less than 1% of the farm land in the USA and less than 10% world wide is Organically managed so there is greater demand than there is supply

Organic foods are produced in a manner that limits the use of synthetic materials in production. For most of human history, agriculture can be described as organic, but only during the 20th century was a large amount of new synthetic chemicals introduced to the food supply.Processed foods usually contain organic ingredients. If non-organic ingredients are present, at least a certain percentage of the total plant on food and animal ingredients must be organic .

Today Organic food is more expensive right from the start with the basic ingredients.Like, organic oats yields fewer bushels per acre because organic is grown without herbicides so some weeds grow with the oats displace oat plants. So less bushels per acre yield.

Organic foods are generally used to describe food grown without artificial fertilizers or pesticides and more in a way that emphasizes crop rotation, utilization of natural fertilizers and ensure that the soil life is maintained.
