Cooking for Diabetes

Postby manda » Thu Sep 03, 2009 4:31 pm

Hi, all!
I just wanted to make everyone aware of some really useful sites for people with diabetes.

The first one is, of course, http://www.diabetes.org, which provides awesome tips for anything from fitness to nutrition to community events. Highly recommend!

The second one, I found via Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/robynwebb) as a re-tweet from one of my other friend's posts. Her site (http://www.robynwebb.com) offers recipes, tips, and a large variety of cookbooks for diabetetics. My two favorites are More Diabetic Meals in 30 Minutes - or Less! and You CAN Eat That! Awesome Food for Kids with Diabetes.

Thanks for sharing useful information....I strongly recommend you switch your whole kitchen to the Sugar Busters lifestyle....It's difficult for the first month, but it works. There is a cookbook also, but I just modify my old recipes...!

One of my family friends says that one of the reasons for Diabetes is eating the rice cooked in a Pressure Cooker, because of which we are eating the major portion of starch in the cooked rice.Kitchen appliances

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is characterized by insulin resistance which may be combined with relatively reduced insulin secretion. The defective responsiveness of body tissues to insulin is believed to involve the insulin receptor. However, the specific defects are not known. Diabetes mellitus due to a known defect are classified separately. Type 2 diabetes is the most common type.
